Third annual AV Awards Banquet at InfoComm 06 celebrates industry excellence
ORLANDO, Fla. -- InfoComm International®, the premier professional audiovisual trade association, presented the Fred Dixon Service in Education Award CTS, MCP, at the third annual AV Awards Banquet. The event was held as part of InfoComm 06, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
CTS, MCP, has worked in the audiovisual industry for over 35 years in the areas of production, postproduction, facility management, system design, sales and technical instruction. Weems currently serves as Director of Training for NetStreams, LLC in Austin, Texas. In May 2001, he became the Senior Technical Trainer for InFocus® Corporation and later served as its Consultant Relations Manager. Weems formerly served as a District Manager and Market Development Specialist with Sony Electronics Inc. for 16 years, supporting the professional video product line.
Over the last 25 years, Weems has taught over 35 classes at the InfoComm International Institute for Professional Development, seminars at InfoComm, and has been designated both a Senior InfoComm Academy Faculty member and a Lifetime CTS. In 1999, he was presented with the InfoComm International Educator of the Year award. Weems served as chair of InfoComm International's Professional Education and Training Committee and a member of its Board of Governors from 2000 to 2005. He is also the editor of The Basics of Audio and Visual Systems Design, published by InfoComm in 2004.

The Fred Dixon Service in Education Award is bestowed by InfoComm's Professional Education and Training Committee upon an individual who exhibits excellence throughout his or her entire body of work.
